Chesley Bonestell

The Illustrated London News The american illustrator Chesley Bonestell was born 1 January 1888 in San Francisco, California. He worked for the Illustrated London News around 1922. As an architect (his formal training), he painted the ceiling of the San Francisco Opera. He then moved to the motion picture industry, beginning with the space sets of Destination moon, and then others. He later worked as a space illustrator for many magazins.
